I hope everyone can take the time today to remember the sacrifices made by our men and women in uniform. Among many others, today I honour my grandmother, Sergeant Isa O’Hagan (Swan) who served with the South African Medical Corps in Italy during the Second World War.
They shall grown not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
